My name is Taylor Smith and I am currently a junior at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Ca. I am also a member of the women's basketball program and have for many years struggled with reaching my ideal weight in order to perform at my peak potential.  Prior to this past season I was faced with a challenging situation when I had to undergo arthroscopic surgery on my ankle, which would sideline me for three months. Because I was unable to be as active as I was accustomed to, I saw this as an opportunity to really focus on my diet and making the necessary changes to reach my ideal weight.

Dr. Kevin Steele introduced me to Casey Conrad’s  "Take It Off Weight Loss program” and because of it I was able to achieve and surpass my original goals.  Kevin's advice and the Take It Off food journal allowed me to monitor what I ate and provided me the tools for knowing what to eat, when to eat it, and how much of it to eat.  I went into the program weighing 169 lbs and although I considered myself to be in shape, I knew that I had some slimming down to do.  Not only for my health, but also for my overall basketball game.

My goal was to lose nine lbs in three months. I followed the Take It Off plan strictly and really tried to watch my portion sizes and the foods that I ate.  At first, I thought I would spend my days hungry and be unsatisfied with the recommended foods.  However, I found that I stayed satisfied throughout the day because I was eating more regularly rather than waiting long periods of time in-between meals and in-turn being ravenous by the time I ate.  I also found that my energy level was sustained throughout the day.

The biggest area I noticed improvement in was with basketball game. When I returned after being off for three months I thought it would take me awhile to get back in shape, however, I came back and felt better than I ever have before.  I noticed improvements in my quickness, speed, and jumping ability, as well as, in my overall cardio.  When I returned to the court three months later I had lost 14 lbs and was at 155lbs. Not only was my basketball game affected, but also my performance in school.  I am able to focus for longer periods of time and find that I don't doze off as regularly as I used to.  I can clearly see the difference the Take It Off program has made not only in regards to my body, but also my mind.  I feel like I am in the best shape of my life and I will continue to utilize the tools that Kevin and the Take It Off Program have provided me throughout my life.
